Bag Ladies

OK, I'm still learning this blog stuff. Ever since Kaaren announced her 4th of July giveaway, I have been trying to put her button on my blog. I did it once before with the rainbow swap button but couldn't remember how I did it! Well gang, I think I got it! Go to her blog and see the wonderful things she is giving away!

As I posted before, I was lucky enough to be asked to be a pattern tester for Stephanie's West Linn Bag. She debuted the pattern last week and I am so happy for her! She has already made some sales and hopefully many more! As a thank you to me, she gave me one of her patterns YEA! It's lovely and her daughter did a bang up job of designing the packaging!

Along with the pattern, she gave me this yummy stack of pretty pink fat quarters!

Goodness! Lucky me! Now I need a special project to use these in!

In the meantime, Stephanie's bag got me in the mood to make a bag too!

Something with pretty little yo yos please!

A little quilted bag just big enough to comfortably fit a paperback book

But what's that little hangy thing on the handle?

A gift tag! This is my fabric version of a gift bag that EVERYONE uses. I hardly ever wrap gifts anymore. It's so much easier to pop it in a giftbag, add a bit of tissue paper and it's good to go!

I've made this kind of bag for years now. We reuse the Christmas themed ones every year in my house. I just slide in a new gift tag eack time. I have used DecorBond interfacing in the past but I used fleece instead on this bag and I like it!

I'm going to make a few for my Etsy site but this particular bag is up for grabs. Leave me a comment between now and June 30th. Everyone's name will be put in a bag (1 entry per person so multiple comments do not increase you chances of winning). I will announce the winner the first week of July. Come on, play along. I don't have a big following so your chances of winning are pretty good! Maybe you will be extra lucky and win here and at Kaaren's!

  2. What a sweet Summery bag. There's something about it which makes me think of of sitting down reading a book pretending to watch a cricket match. :-) I think it must be the well kept "lawn" fabric with the bright flowers like you see decorating the traditional pavillion planters. Lovely workwomanship Rumi.

  48. I love your little bag. It would be great as a gift bag. At Christmas time, I buy paper ones and retrieve them from family members. This would be a great change. Also, I have two granddaughters who love "purses" so this size would be perfect for them. The yo-yos would especially appeal to the 7-year old. She is a "girly" girl.
