Yeah! I had some time to work on my birdie quilt. Here is a pic of the top corner.
Ta Da! Whatcha think? Several people suggested that instead of a narrow white first border, I should pick one of the colors in the quilt. Good call people! I like it! I decided to jazz it up a bit in the corners by using some more of the birdie fabric. (ahem, this decision was easy to make since I was a tad short on the blue border fabric.)

Now comes my least favorite part--putting it together and quilting it. Hopefully it will not languish in my UFO pile!
Talk at you later. Rumi
Yes, great border choice. Come on...you can finish it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Stephanie, great choice. Looks nice and bright and fun.

I like the border choice too! Really makes it pop. Super job now keep going.
ReplyDeleteGreat border! I love the little corner square in the narrow border - too perfect. May have to try that myself... please don't let this languish - quilt it!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the birdie fabric in the corners of the borders! The bold colors are so cheerful! Do you hand quilt your projects? Good for you! Seems not too many people do that anymore. I could never figure out how some people could turn out so many quilts so fast, until I discovered that they send their projects out to be machine quilted! As Forest Gump would say "Where I come from, we call that cheatin'!"
ReplyDeleteWhatever works I suppose! I'd probably make more quilts too if I could find someone to swap machine quilting services for something I can do in return.
Looking forward to seeing this one finished!

ReplyDeleteThis turned out w-a-y cute!! I have some of that little birdie fabric too and I just love it...it's nice to see some of it used in a project. I'm doing boring backing sewing for 3 tops....I HATE this part!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet quilt - the birdie fabric is so cute Rumi.
