Do you use this cool tool to make your half square triangles?
This is a template that you put on the wrong side of your lighter fabric. With a fabric pencil, trace the pattern on the fabric. Stack the fabric right sides together onto the 2nd fabric. Sew on the diagonal lines then cut on the horizontal and vertical lines. Now cut each square in half. Voila, half square triangles.

I have a couple different sizes. The one I am using now makes 1" (finished) half square triangles.
Yea! more little corners to add to my bucket!
Cool tool! Tiny half square triangles you're making there.
ReplyDeleteI made this quilt a bit ago. It is so fun. You can just enjoy sewing and sewing those half square triangles. I love making them.
ReplyDeleteI have not ever seen that before. I have used paper that you sew on before but then you have to rip all the paper off.
ReplyDelete1 inch!! How fun is that. I also save the little 'tails" one day I am going to find a glass lamp and fill the base with my little "tails"
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I've heard of the method but never seen a template. Will so have to check that out. Love that dark (black?) fabric you are using. Looking forward to seeing what you make...
ReplyDeletePS - just love your collection of little corners!
The first thing I thought of when I saw your triangles was that you would have more little corners for your collection!
ReplyDeleteI really need one of those grids as cutting is my least favourite bit of quilting. Irally like the look of the dark fabric, cant wait to see some finished blocks.
