Rainbow block swap

I have been having fun working on my rainbow block swap hosted by Jane at Jane's Fabric and Quilts I picked the Ohio Star for my block since I like the pattern and also thought it was fitting since I now live in Ohio. I wanted to do something a little different that the standard pattern. I had a pattern in one of my old quilt magazines that meshed 4 Ohio Stars together. I loved the way it looked but the pattern was for a 9 1/2-inch block. I fiddled with the pattern to make it into a 12-inch block but geez Louise that meant EVERY piece had to be measured to the 16th of an inch. A little bit of a headache but I think it turned out ok.

I think the green fabrics are much prettier in person than on the computer. The star points are Michael Miller's fabric and has a wonderful shimmer about it. The center of the stars have the cutest little snails scattered randomly around. I tried to make sure each block had at least 1 or 2 snails!

I have a few more to make and then it's off to Jane!
