Being the generous sort that she is, she gave me a stack of leftover flannel from making her cases. How cute are these!
Well, I turned some of it into these burpcloths.
I volunteer for a great local charity called Touching Little Lives. TLL provides clothing and other baby necessities to preemie as well as needy babies. Having been a preemie myself, I have a soft spot for them. These nice thick and soft burpcloths are on their way to happy babies!
Here are some pics from this month's TLL workshop.
Bags and bags of baby quilts.
Stacks of receiving blankets.
Mountains of hats, booties, outfits etc.
Colorful snaps for all those wonderful little (and I do mean LITTLE) baby clothes.
This is a gown not a shirt!
As you can see there are alot of dedicated people sewing, knitting and crocheting away to provide so much for our littlest ones. And this is just 1 workshop among many throughout the area. I'm actually the slacker of the group. I always have the best intentions to get alot of TLL donations done but before I know it, another month has gone by and I have meager offerings.
CUTE burp cloths. You must share the quilt on your bed! :o) And I know you're hardly the slacker with all the things you've made.
ReplyDeleteRumi, I have just had a little look-see through your Blog - just lovely!

I have one of those pillow cases and I am still using mine too. It is so soft. Our guild makes quilts for the preemies at our hospital. Those burp cloths are sweet.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely charity.. thank you for sharing it with us. All those tiny baby things. I had one preemie too.. but he was 8 months.. and not really as tiny as some. That little nightshirt is amazing.. to think a little person fits in one of those. Love your burp cloths.. what a good idea to use the flannel scraps for them.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes.. I second that about Stephanie's pillow cases!
What a lovely cause!! All those little outfits are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteHia Rumi, those are such sweet cloths. I am sure they wil be really appreciated. What a wonderful cause. Well done for helping.
ReplyDeleteYes Stephanie's pillow cases are wonderful- she started a craze for them in our house.
